Meet Shelley Lewis-Mercier

Hi, I am Shelley.

I am a CPA who spent more than 30 years in corporate leadership, and I learned the hard way that being good with numbers does not automatically mean feeling at peace with money.

Coaching gave me the missing piece. It helped bridge the gap between knowing what I should do and actually trusting my decisions.

Today, I combine deep financial expertise with coaching to help women make money decisions that truly fit their lives, not outdated expectations or external pressure.

My journey started at Ernst & Young, where I earned my CPA, CA designation, and has since spanned corporate, government, and non-profit leadership roles. I’ve built and led teams across Finance, Accounting, IT, Credit, HR, and Project Management, so if it involves numbers, people, or making things run smoothly - I’m in my element.

A Legacy of Growth

The name DLC is more than just a company - it’s a tribute. 

My father, decades ahead of the self-development curve, founded DLC Associates over 40 years ago. He believed in personal growth before it was popular, and his legacy of learning inspired this work.

Our logo is filled with symbols of personal meaning and transformation:
  • Rabbit– Prosperity and progress
  • Birch Leaf – Strength and renewal
  • Oak Leaf – Courage and integrity

  • Butterfly - Transformation & growth (and a personal tribute to my husband, Marc’s father - every time we see a monarch, we say hi to him).

And because everything comes full circle, these symbols hold deep personal meaning. I grew up on Birchwood Tree Farm, where my parents raised rabbits. Today, I have planted roots in Oakville, Ontario, but I work with clients across Canada and beyond.
